The Coaches


Ex Professional Rugby player, Coach, Personal Trainer, Business Owner and Co-Founder of SoCal Rugby Camps, Marc Stcherbina brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the organization.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Marc began his professional playing career in the Super Rugby competition with  the N.S.W. Waratahs. After 5 seasons with his beloved home team, he set his sights on an overseas experience, signing a 2 year deal with French Champions Biarritz, before moving on to Northampton Saints, Cardiff Blues and then finally Newport Gwent Dragons where a serious neck injury ended his illustrious 12 year career.

Marc also achieved representative honors for his country, playing in 10 International Sevens tournaments for the Australian 7s team, including 2 Commonwealth Games (winning Bronze in 1998), and wearing the green and gold jersey of the Australian Schools, u19, u21 and Australia A all before the age of 25.

His coaching resumé in the USA includes 15s and 7s coach for the Santa Monica Rugby Club, assistant coach for the USA Maccabiah, and currently the Girls High School All American and Mens Junior All American teams.

Marc also puts his Personal Training qualifications and Sports Science degree to use as the owner and Head Trainer of Rugby Method, which involves rugby-influenced outdoor fitness sessions predominantly on the West Side of Los Angeles. 



Dallen Stanford is a former USA Rugby Sevens Eagle who played in 13 tournaments on the HSBC Sevens World Series from 2006-2009, including the 2009 Sevens World Cup in Dubai.
Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, Dallen captained the University of Cape Town (UCT) u21A rugby side and played UCT 1st XV from 2000-2003.
Since emigrating to the USA, he was apart of the Belmont Shore RFC teams that won the Super League National Championship XVs title in 2007, the National Championship 7s title in 2009, as well as runners-up at the National Championship 7s in 2008 and 2010. Dallen has also toured extensively with 7s teams through Tiger Rugby (South Africa & Mexico), Atlantis (Italy & Spain) and the Pacific Coast Grizzlies (Singapore & Hong Kong). In 2013 he captained the USA Maccabi rugby side to a Gold medal in 7s and Bronze medal in XVs at the World Maccabiah Games in Israel. In 2015 he was a player/coach at the Pan American Maccabiah Games in Chile - winning Gold in 7s and Silver in XVs.
Off the field, Dallen has served as the Media Manager for the USA Eagles during the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and the 2013 Sevens World Cup in Russia as well as writing various rugby articles for Ultimate Rugby 7s, Rugby Zone, Rugby Magazine, World Rugby Shop, Rugby IQ and owns his own website Dallen is a prominent rugby announcer for the World Sevens Series (Las Vegas & Vancouver), USA Rugby, ESPN, CBS and the City of Glendale Colorado (Infinity Park). Dallen is also the Host for The Rugby Channel's highlights show. He works for Play Rugby USA – which uses flag rugby as a vehicle for social change amongst inner city boys and girls – and is an ambassador for the Tackling Cancer Foundation.
On the coaching front, Dallen has worked with various teams as a guest coach over the past 15 years, and been involved with the University of Texas at Austin (UT), Austin Huns, Austin Area High School, ELITE Rugby Camps, Palos Verdes Rugby and was the head coach of Occidental College from 2012–2014, winning a National 7s title in 2013 and finishing 4th in the nation in XVs in the same year. Dallen is proud to be a Co-Founder of SoCal Rugby Camps.

With both Dallen and Marc's playing and coaching pedigree, especially their involvement with youth teams, it is the perfect combination for providing the highest value to camp participants, while enhancing and facilitating the development of aspiring Eagles players.
